A bit about us…

WE ARE A SMALL FAMILY RUN BUSINESS BASED IN SCOTLAND

In 2017 after having my first baby, I set up an online business selling eco friendly household goods. An area I’ve always been passionate about; I was personally looking for ways to reduce our reliance on plastic goods and single use items.

Fast forward three years and another toddler in tow, my focus naturally shifted to how we could make more sustainable choices as parents. What really struck me was the amount of waste that one small baby creates specifically from single use nappies and wipes! This compelled me to start exploring the world of cloth nappies.

To start with, I found the process of switching from disposables to reusables quite overwhelming. With so many different types of cloth nappy and such an immense amount of information, it was tricky knowing where to start…

After a somewhat shaky start (and a bit of trial and error), I really started to enjoy my cloth nappy journey, taking great satisfaction from knowing I was literally saving thousands of disposable nappies from ending up in landfill. Not only that, but I found a whole community of ‘Cloth Bum Mums’ passionate about doing their bit for the planet and saving a few pennies along the way.

WE WANT to make using cloth nappies easy and enjoyable!

Having tried a number of different types of cloth nappies over time, I was particularly drawn to pocket nappies for their flexibility and quick drying power, (which living in rainy Scotland is a VERY important characteristic)!

I wanted to create a business that simplified the process of switching to cloth nappies and thus Nappy Shak was born! It’s been a labour of love designing the nappies, whilst running around after two young children and I hope you love them as much as we do! The brightly coloured watercolour designs are artist drawn and created to capture the joy and fun of being young.
